Coach aka Darnell Rice:

He was voiced by Chad L. Coleman who was also on "The Wire" and "The Walking Dead"...
Here he can be seen on the 4 Train in NYC going absolutely nuts LOL (viewer discretion advised):

This guy, Dayton Callie:

Whitaker looks like this in "Dead Center":

But later on gets infected and looks like this in "The Passing"

Found out that the Plantation house, in the last map of "Swamp Fever", is based on a real plantation in Louisiana.

The Bridge in "The Parish" (last map) is partially based on the I-10 Bridge; located on the Mississippi river a few miles upriver from New Orleans.

The airport terminal from "Dead Air" is loosely based on Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania.

If you take a look at this movie poster of "The Sacrifice", you'll see a halo around Bill's head.  It was intentionally placed there to suggest his eventual death.

Zoey's model was Sonja Kinski. She happens to be actress Nastassja Kinski's daughter and granddaughter of famous actor, Klaus Kinski.

Jen Taylor is Zoey's voice actress. She has done parts in Halo, Mario games and DOTA 2:

Listen for the Zoey laugh at the start of the interview....

The model for Francis is Taylor Knox, I guess he's a professional surfer by trade.  Taylor's height is 5'10" but Francis in L4D is supposedly 6'5".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Knox

Francis's voice is done by Vince Valenzuela:

Here is an ad he's done:

Here he is doing stand up comedy:

Recognize this (from "Swamp Fever")?

That charger is shaped like that on purpose. He is in the form of the Valve Lambda logo.

Rochelle's face model is Shanola Hampton:

And her voice is done by gorgeous Rochelle Aytes:

Here's a video interview of her:

Some trivia on Rochelle....because Rochelle works for a news station, her quotes, "By the beard of Zeus, this hurts!", "Knights of Columbus, this hurts!" and "Son of a bee sting, this hurts!" are most likely references to the movie Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Will Ferrell, who stars as professional anchorman Ron Burgundy, shouts these lines when injured. -L4D Wiki

Ellis's face model is Jesy McKinney:

Some tidbits on Ellis (from L4D Wiki):
In early designs for Ellis, his cap has the Cross of Saint George on it, this may indicate that at one point in his design stage, he was to be English rather than American.

The backstory behind the T-shirt spawns from Ellis' love for trucks. We came up with the idea that Ellis and a group of his high school buddies started up their own truck club, which may or may not still exist, and named themselves the Bullshifters with a logo to boot. A play on words, if you hadn't already guessed: "shifters" referring to cars/trucks, "bullshifters" referring to... well, you get the idea. (Valve's genius writer Erik Wolpaw gets all the credit for that one.)  As for the art, Big Daddy Roth is the influence. He's an artist that is notorious for his motorhead appeal. His style was the obvious one for the shirt design.

Ellis' line "Die, die, my darlings, die, die, die!" is the same as the lyrics to the song Die, Die My Darling by The Misfits and covered by Metallica. Another line of Ellis' is "I ain't no goddamn sonofabitch" is a line used in the song Where Eagles Dare by The Misfits. Thus it is possible that Ellis, or at the very least someone at Valve, is a big Metallica and/or Misfits fan.

Upon seeing Rochelle kill a Special Infected, he may say "Well Goddamn, Annie Oakley", which is a reference to Annie Oakley, the American sharpshooter.
Annie Oakley:

Ellis is voiced by Eric Ladin:

This guy, Fred Tatasciore voices the Tank:

Tank type 1 (L4D1):

Tank type 2 (The Sacrifice):

Tank type 3 (L4D2):

Tips:
The Tank can knock down the beginning safe room door, provided the bar has been removed from it. However, if one were to crouch behind the door, it will cause the Tank to clip into the door and become stuck under the window, rendering it immobile.  End level safe room doors are not breakable by the tank.

If there is a Minigun or Heavy Machine Gun nearby, you can use it to force the AI Tank to switch targets. The AI Tank always goes for the person mounted on the Minigun/HMG

AI Tanks will generally do a victory taunt (roaring, punching the air, beating its chest or slamming its fists on the ground when on fire) when it successfully incapacitates, kills, or hits a Survivor. Use the opportunity to unload your ammo on it while it is stationary.

Sometimes it is also a good idea to use a programming glitch involving ladders to trap the Tank. If a Survivor is climbing up a ladder and stops and holds still, there is a good chance that the Tank will stop as well and thereby giving the other Survivors a chance to kill it without risk to themselves.

SWAMP FEVER is an informal name that's been given to equine infectious anemia and to leptospirosis. Before the 19th century swamp fever also referred to Malaria.
